What did all this mean for Nataij? One busy year. Operating in the international development sphere, the Nataij team engaged in numerous projects across the globe that, at their core, aimed to advance the adaptive capacity of vulnerable communities to climate change.
In early September of 2018, Nataij travelled to Manila, Philippines to assist the Foundation for the Philippine Environment review its institutional structure and align its policies, procedures, and systems with international best practices. One thing that quickly became obvious: This 26-person team is making real change.
The future is daunting for communities as well as their environment: extreme levels of poverty and poor physical infrastructure render Nepal particularly vulnerable to climate change.
Nataij was contracted by SPREP in late 2015 to assist the organization in meeting fiduciary and environmental/social standards for “Accredited Project Entities” under the Global Environment Facility (GEF).
